What is the ruling on reading Surat Al-Kahf from the Mushaf on Friday after bathing, without Wudu?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Friday Ghusl (ritual bath) does not substitute for Wudu (ablution), because it is a non-obligatory bath and does not remove ritual impurity (hadath). Therefore, it is not permissible to touch the Mushaf (copy of the Quran) after it for someone who has not performed Wudu, due to Allah's saying: "None touch it except the purified," (Quran 56:79) and due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "None should touch the Quran except one who is pure." However, it is permissible to recite the Quran without Wudu from memory or without touching the Mushaf.
