Should colleagues who mock religion be prevented from touching the Qur'an and from attending prayers? And is it permissible for someone in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) or a non-believer to attend religious lessons on television?

Mocking religion is an act of disbelief (kufr). Those who mock religion must be denounced, and their actions should be addressed by wisely and kindly explaining the gravity of what they are doing. It is not permissible for a disbeliever or an apostate to touch the Holy Quran. As for a person in a state of ritual impurity (junub) or a disbeliever listening to religious lessons, there is no harm in it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite the Quran to disbelievers and invite them to Islam through it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, also rebuked Abu Hurairah for his hesitation to sit with him while Abu Hurairah was in a state of ritual impurity.
