Is it considered an injustice if a man divorces his wife while she does not wish for the divorce, and will God hold him accountable for this injustice which only the wronged party can forgive? And what should a person do if he becomes distressed by living with his wife, while she has no complaints?

Divorce is Islamically abhorred, yet it is permissible when needed due to the wife's ill-manners or the failure to achieve the purpose of marriage. It becomes recommended if the husband is unable to fulfill her rights. Nevertheless, it is advised not to hasten in divorce and to be patient with the wife, bearing in mind the words of the Almighty: "And live with them honorably. If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah brings through it much good," and the hadith: "No believing man should hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another."
