Does God accept the supplication of a mother against her children who are dutiful to her, if she wrongs them and speaks ill of them with gossip and foul language? And what is the way to show her piety despite her lack of discernment and her committing of forbidden acts?

The questioner is advised to fear Allah, be dutiful to her mother, and endure her harm with patience, responding to it with kindness. She should not expect a reward, but rather seek recompense from Allah, for the mother's right is immense, especially in old age. This is in accordance with the Almighty’s saying: "And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while with you], say not to them [uff] and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, 'My Lord, have mercy upon them as they nurtured me when I was small.'" And she is reminded of the hadith: "Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father." As for her mother's sins, if she is of sound mind, she should be reminded gently and kindly; otherwise, the sin is upon her. If you fulfill your duty, her curses will not harm you; rather, they might even be a blessing. To solve the issue of cleanliness, assistance can be sought from some relatives or neighbors. Finally, supplicate for her mother's guidance and forgiveness, for your good treatment will change her and make her cease her harm.
