Is speaking quickly during prayer, Qur’an recitation, and remembrance (dhikr)—which might make letters unclear and words blend together—considered forbidden (haram)?

If the questioner, when reciting the Qur’an, does not articulate some letters due to speed, and cannot slow down her recitation, then there is no blame upon her, because she is overcome by that. We cite as evidence the Almighty's saying: "And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred, but [blame is due for] what your hearts intended," and His saying: "Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity." However, if she is able to slow down and articulate, then the speed that prevents the articulation of letters is disliked. Indeed, the Hanafi jurists considered hadhramah (rapid recitation) to be among the reprehensible acts.
