What is the wisdom behind the month of Ramadan being the month of fasting, and not other months?

Allah has profound wisdom in what He legislates, and we may or may not grasp it, but our faith and submission do not depend on it. We have not come across the wisdom behind the obligation of fasting specifically in Ramadan, but Allah has singled it out with virtues, including making it the time for the revelation of heavenly scriptures and the worship of fasting. And Allah Almighty creates what He wills and chooses.
