Have any hadiths been reported regarding the virtue of fasting in the month of Rajab?

The month of Rajab is one of the sacred months in which fighting is prohibited, and the sanctity of violating sacred things and committing sins is intensified. No authentic hadith has been established regarding the virtue of fasting in the month of Rajab specifically; all the narrations mentioned in this regard are either weak or fabricated. As for fasting certain days of it, such as the twenty-seventh, and performing prayers on its eve, that is an innovation for which there is no basis in Islamic law.
