The answer

Involuntary vomiting does not break the fast. However, if it is done intentionally, it invalidates the fast and necessitates making up the missed day. Breaking the fast due to travel is not permissible until one has passed beyond the houses of the village. Since the aforementioned breaking of the fast was not permissible شرعًا (Islamically), the questioner must repent and make up the fast. A محرم (unmarriageable kin) is required for travel. Offering condolences is recommended, but if it causes hardship, it is better to suffice with a phone call. Making up missed Ramadan fasts does not require consecutive days, but it must be completed before the start of the next Ramadan.
