Is a woman's attendance at the Eid al-Fitr prayer in the mosque an obligatory Sunnah?

It is recommended for women to go out for Eid prayers, provided there is no fear of fitna (temptation/strife) from them, and that they avoid perfume and adornment. Their attire should be unremarkable and not attention-grabbing. This ruling applies to elderly women and those from whom no fitna is feared. As for young women and those of beauty who are desired, their attendance is disliked, out of fear of fitna. It is preferable to perform the Eid prayer in the musalla (prayer ground) rather than in the mosque, unless there is an excuse, following the example of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his الخلفاء (Caliphs).
