The Hour and Its Signs
- What are the means a Muslim can use for the unity and reform of the Ummah and to bring benefit to it, and how can the Ummah return to its former state, or will it not return except with the appearance of the signs of the Hour?
- What is the meaning of "al-Muthannah" mentioned in the Prophetic Hadith: "Among the signs (and in another narration, portents) of the Hour is that the wicked will be raised and the good will be debased, speech will be widespread while deeds will be scarce, and people will recite 'al-Muthannah' and none among them will denounce it," and the Prophet's explanation of it as "that which has been written besides the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Exalted"?
- To what extent is the hadith of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, which mentions the signs of the Hour, authentic, such as: "The child shall be a source of rage, and the rain shall be a source of torment, and the wicked shall overflow, and the liar shall be believed, and the truthful shall be disbelieved, and the treacherous shall be trusted, and kinship ties shall be severed, and hypocrites and transgressors shall prevail, and mihrabs shall be decorated while hearts are desolate, and the believer shall become more humiliated than a dirham, and men shall suffice themselves with men and women with women, and the rule of children and the plotting of women, and the ruins of the world shall be built up while its prosperity is ruined, and musical instruments and pride and wine drinking shall appear, and children of fornication shall increase, and men and women shall continue in fornication after divorce"?
- How do we reconcile what is stated in the Quran—that ants speak like humans and that the Beast will speak to people—with modern scientific discoveries indicating that ant communication occurs through chemical substances, and with linguists' understanding that speech is exclusive to humans and not animals?
- Why did the Prophet (peace be upon him) not inform us of the Hour's advent?
- Is there an authentic Hadith concerning the mathnāt? If so, what is that Hadith, both its chain of narration (sanad) and text (matn)?
- How can one reconcile the death of the disbelievers by the breath of Jesus (peace be upon him), the conversion of many Christians to Islam, and the rejection of his call by others? And how can the Dajjal offer advice to the Companions? And what is the land where destruction will occur, and who are the people who will be punished by transformation, swallowing by the earth, and stoning?
- Has the Day of Resurrection drawn near due to the abundance of people's sins in the present time?
- How sound is the Hadith: "The fourth tribulation will last twelve years, then it will subside, and the Euphrates will have receded from a mountain of gold..."? And can it be used as a proof if it is weak?
- Are the mentioned meanings - that the Hour will commence when civilization reaches its peak, or that contemporary civilization may advance then be struck by a catastrophe that sets it back, or that civilizations advance then collapse - correct, and is it valid to infer them from the verse: (Until, when the earth has taken on its adornment and is beautified and its people suppose that they have power over it, Our command comes to it by night or by day, and We make it as a harvest [field], as if it had not flourished yesterday. Thus do We elaborate the signs for a people who reflect)?
- What is the knowledge that Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, concealed, which he referred to by saying: "I memorized from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, two vessels. As for one of them, I propagated it, but as for the other, if I were to propagate it, this throat would be cut off," and what is the evidence for that?
- Will the gathering of people on the Day of Resurrection be in Arafat?
- Is the Great Malhama a reality in Islam, and will the Mahdi emerge before it, and will Constantinople be conquered again?
- Who is Imam Mahdi, and is there evidence of his advent in the Qur’an and Sunnah, and what is the sequence of the appearance of the major signs of the Hour?
- What are the signs that a supplication has been answered, and how is the hour of acceptance on Friday known?
- What is the ruling on knowing a person's zodiac sign and reading their personality traits? And is dealing with the dispositions associated with zodiac signs or making social decisions based on them considered unlawful (haram) or polytheism (shirk)?
- Is there a Prophetic Hadith that indicates that a war or fire igniting from the East is among the signs of the Hour?
- What are the minor and major signs of the Day of Judgment?
- Won't the smoke destroy all disbelievers and polytheists, so why is it said that the polytheists will remain after the good wind takes the souls of the believers, to witness the rest of the horrors of the Day of Judgment?
- Is it permissible to adorn the mosque with Quranic verses, furnish it with luxurious carpets, illuminate it excessively beyond need despite the high cost, and install carved pillars?
- How accurate is the circulating message attributed to Dr. Zaghloul El Naggar that the cause of the Asian earthquake is the disruption of the Earth's rotation and its slowing down, indicating the proximity of the major signs and the sunrise from its west?
- Is the widespread hadith: "At the end of time there will come men, who are not truly men, they imitate women; if you see them, then know that the Hour has drawn near" authentic, and is its attribution to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sound?
- Does the noble verse, "And We gave them enjoyment for a while" (Qur’an 15:80), indicate that Nineveh is the last city before the Day of Judgment, and does this include the descendants of the people of Jonah?
- Is there a contradiction between the Prophet’s — may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him — doubt as to whether Ibn Sayyad was the Dajjal, and the hadiths that indicate the Dajjal will not appear until after the Mahdi, and the existence of signs and portents of the Hour?
