Will the gathering of people on the Day of Resurrection be in Arafat?

There is no authentic evidence that the gathering of pilgrims in Arafat is among the signs of the Day of Judgment. Rather, what is established in the authentic Hadith is that the gathering (for judgment) will be in Ash-Sham (Syria), as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Ash-Sham is the land of gathering and dispersion." The gathering of people for Hajj in Arafat reminds the Muslim of the Grand Gathering and the assembly of servants for reckoning and recompense.
