What procedures must be followed during menstruation while performing the Hajj rituals, and is it permissible to take medication to delay the menstrual cycle?

If you reach the Miqat, make your intention for Ihram with the intention of entering the ritual. If you intend to perform Umrah followed by Hajj (Tamattu'), which is preferable, perform ghusl (ritual bath) and pray two rak'ahs before Ihram, then say: "Labbayka Allahumma Umrah." Recite the Talbiyah frequently, lowering your voice in the presence of men. Upon reaching Makkah, perform Tawaf around the Kaaba seven circuits, then perform Sa'i between Safa and Marwah seven circuits, starting with Safa and ending with Marwah, then shorten your hair.

You remain in a state of permissible acts until the Day of Tarwiyah. At that time, you perform Ihram for Hajj and proceed to Mina (recommended), and spend that night there. On the Day of Arafah (the ninth), you stand at Arafah from after Zawwal (midday) until sunset, and this is the greatest pillar of Hajj. After that, you proceed to Muzdalifah and spend the night there (obligatory). You may go to Mina to stone the Jamrat al-Aqabah before Fajr or before sunrise. After stoning, shorten your hair, then go to Makkah for Tawaf and Sa'i (these can be delayed). You spend the nights of the Days of Tashreeq in Mina (obligatory), and you stone the three Jamarat, each with seven pebbles. If you wish to return to your country, perform the Farewell Tawaf then depart directly.

If you are performing Tamattu' or Qiran, you must offer a sacrifice (hady) to be slaughtered on the Day of Nahr. You may eat from it and give some in charity. You may appoint someone to slaughter on your behalf.

Menstruation does not prevent Ihram or the performance of rituals except Tawaf. If your menstruation begins before Ihram, perform Ihram and ghusl. If it begins after Ihram and before Tawaf, complete all rituals except Tawaf; wait until you become pure, then perform Tawaf. If you performed Ihram for Umrah while menstruating, or if your menstruation began before the Umrah Tawaf, wait until you become pure, then perform Tawaf and Sa'i and exit Ihram. If the eighth day arrives and you are menstruating, perform Ihram for Hajj on top of Umrah, thus becoming a Qarinah, and perform all rituals except Tawaf and Sa'i.

A menstruating woman performs all rituals except Tawaf around the Kaaba. This includes standing at Arafah and Muzdalifah, stoning the Jamarat, remembrance (dhikr), and supplication (du'a). Sa'i is dependent on Tawaf and is not performed except after it.

If your menstruation begins after the Tawaf al-Ifadah, complete your rituals, and the Farewell Tawaf is waived for you. It is permissible for you to take medication to delay menstruation if it does not cause harm.
