What is the ruling on a husband who does not wish to socialize with people or visit them unless they are trustworthy and committed in his view?

A believer should only associate with the upright, and not mix excessively with disobedient individuals except for the purpose of da'wah (inviting to Islam). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not associate except with a believer, and let none eat your food except a pious person." Excessive mixing without legitimate Islamic guidelines may lead to spiritual illness, listening to backbiting, and engaging in useless talk. Also, frequent visits lead to much talk, and "There is no good in much of their secret counsel except for him who enjoins charity or good conduct or reconciliation between people," and "He who is silent is saved." As for someone who possesses knowledge and can invite to Allah, it is better for him to invite people and teach the ignorant, as Allah Almighty says: "And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, 'Indeed, I am of the Muslims,'" and as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The believer who mixes with people and patiently endures their harm is better than the believer who does not mix with people and does not patiently endure their harm."
