The question

Is a woman entitled to ask her husband to distance himself from bad friends who do not adhere to the pillars of Islam, and what is the best way to ask for that, especially since he justifies his friendship with them by saying that he will not commit mistakes and sees no religious impediment to it?

The answer

Advising the husband to stay away from bad companions is obligatory because their companionship is very dangerous and leads to pitfalls of destruction. The Sharia has encouraged befriending the good and warned against befriending the wicked, in accordance with His (SWT) saying: (And keep yourself patient with those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life. And do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who pursues his own desire, and whose affair has been [marked by] excess), and His (SWT) saying: (Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous), and the hadith "The example of a good companion and a bad companion." Therefore, he must stay away from them and not be deceived by his self-confidence.
