How is the Udhiyah (sacrificial animal) of a cow distributed among families, and is it sufficient on behalf of the sacrificer and all his sons, married and unmarried, and his married daughters and their families?

Participation in the Udhiyah (sacrificial animal) is of two types:

The first type: Sharing ownership of the Udhiyah. This is permissible only for a camel (badanah) or a cow (baqarah). One animal suffices for seven people, and each person's share is sufficient for himself and his household.

The second type: Sharing the reward (thawab) of the Udhiyah. This is permissible, as the one offering the sacrifice (mudhahhi) may donate the reward of his sacrifice to whomever he wishes among the Muslims, even if the beneficiaries are numerous. However, sharing ownership of a sheep (shah) is not permissible; rather, it suffices for only one person. As for a camel or a cow, it suffices for seven.
