How is the udhiyah distributed between a person and his father if they shared in it and live in two separate homes, and what is the proportion for each of them?

Giving charity from the sacrificial animal (Udhiyah) is recommended, and it should be one-third, according to some scholars. If you and your father share in the sacrifice, a single sheep is only sufficient for one person. However, if you both share in a cow or a camel, it suffices for seven people, according to the majority of scholars (except for the Malikis). Each of your shares is divided according to what you both agreed upon, and it is not permissible for a share to be less than one-seventh. Scholars cited the hadith of Jabir, in which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sacrificed a camel and a cow for seven people. The Udhiyah is a confirmed Sunnah (recommended practice) and not obligatory, according to the majority of scholars.
