Is it permissible for a man to buy one sacrificial animal (udhiyah) to be shared by his mother and his wife, knowing that each of them lives in a different city?

According to the majority of scholars, a camel or a cow suffices as an Udhiyah (sacrificial animal) for seven people. However, sharing in a sheep is not permissible. Nevertheless, a single sheep is sufficient for an entire household. It is permissible for a man to include his wife and mother in his Udhiyah with a single sheep if their financial support is obligatory upon him, even if they do not reside with him. However, if he supports them voluntarily, then including them is not permissible as long as they do not live with him. It is not permissible to share in the price of the Udhiyah nor in its meat. However, it is permissible to share in the reward and merit if the person being included resides with the sacrificer and is a relative whom he supports, whether the support is obligatory or voluntary.
