What is required of one who aborted a fetus in its third month with the husband's approval?

Abortion is unanimously prohibited after the ensoulment. The preferred fatwa (legal opinion) prohibits it before the ensoulment. Aborting the fetus after its formation necessitates a diyah (blood money) and kaffarah (expiation). According to the Maliki school, abortion before formation is treated the same as after formation in terms of necessitating diyah and kaffarah. However, according to the majority of scholars, nothing is required except sincere repentance. Abortion is forbidden even with the husband's knowledge and consent.
