Does a young man who desires males, but does not commit sodomy, sin, knowing that he suffers from sexual deviancy due to being subjected to molestation in childhood, and wishes to rid himself of thoughts of desiring males?
Praise be to Allah, who has blessed you with repentance from homosexuality, which is a regression and a deviation from sound human nature. Among the means that aid in steadfastness are: supplication (Du'a), keeping good company, attending circles of knowledge, inviting others to righteousness, frequently reflecting upon the texts of revelation that instill fear of Allah's punishment, contemplating Allah's Most Beautiful Names and Exalted Attributes, increasing in remembrance of Allah (Dhikr), seeking refuge with Allah from Satan, recalling the danger of sins, performing many prayers, and cultivating an awareness of Allah's watchful eye and fearing His punishment. As for thoughts that sometimes cross the heart, there is no accountability for them as long as you divert your mind from them.
