What is the ruling on speaking foreign words unnecessarily while speaking the Arabic language?

The Arabic language is the noblest of languages and the emblem of Islam. Allah Almighty chose it and revealed the Qur'an in it, making it the language of the Seal of the Prophets. A Muslim should be proud of it and not speak any other language except out of necessity. The Companions, such as Umar ibn al-Khattab and Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas, forbade speaking the gibberish of non-Arabs. Imam Al-Shafi'i disliked for anyone who knew Arabic to mix their speech with non-Arabic words. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah held that an incidental non-Arabic word used to make the مخاطَب (interlocutor) understand is permissible, but habitually speaking in other than Arabic is disliked because it is an imitation of non-Arabs. Ibn Uthaymeen affirmed that a Muslim should not speak in other than Arabic except out of necessity, such as when something is known by its non-Arabic name, or when the مخاطَب (interlocutor) does not understand Arabic.
