The Arabic language is the language of the Holy Quran. Allah Almighty says: {In a clear Arabic tongue.} It is the emblem of Islam and its people. Knowing it is an obligatory duty for understanding the Book and the Sunnah, and whatever is indispensable for fulfilling an obligation is itself obligatory. Mocking it, if it is because it is the language of the Quran, or because of words glorified in the Sharia, such as the names and attributes of Allah or the Messengers, then that is apostasy. However, if the mockery is not related to religion, then the doer should be advised to avoid it so that it does not lead to an undesirable outcome.
