Is a smoker or one who dies due to smoking considered a suicide, based on cigarettes containing poisonous and carcinogenic substances, and on the Hadith: "Whoever takes poison and dies will be in the Fire, abiding eternally therein"? And what is the ruling on light smoking for pleasure? And are cigarettes and shisha considered Khamr (intoxicants) based on the Hadith: "Every intoxicant is Khamr" and "Whatever intoxicates in large quantities, a small quantity of it is Haram"?

Smoking is forbidden due to its impurity, harm, and waste of money. However, it does not reach the degree of suicide, and a smoker is not considered suicidal because he did not intend to kill himself. Smoking is forbidden because of its physical, moral, and financial harms. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “There should be no harm or reciprocating harm.” Smoking is not an intoxicant and does not cause intoxication. It is harmful and foul-smelling, with no benefit, so it is not rational to consume it. If a smoker knows that he is sinning by his disobedience, a black spot will be made in his heart until the heart becomes black, making it easy for him to abandon it. One must hasten to repent and quit smoking, for there is no room for amusement in what is forbidden.
