What is the ruling on smoking and using shisha, and what is the ruling on the money earned therefrom?

Smoking is forbidden due to the destructive harms and dire consequences that result from it. Allah has permitted good things and forbidden evil things, and it is well-known that smoke is among the evil things.

It has been authentically narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "There shall be no harm nor reciprocating harm." It has also been confirmed by the testimony of doctors that smoking causes many serious diseases, and nicotine is considered a dangerous narcotic.

It is incorrect to say that low-tar cigarettes are less harmful; this is a deception of the consumer.

Smoking is destructive to the body and a waste of money, and money earned from it is unlawful.

A smoker is not excused for being unable to quit, as the matter requires strong resolve and a conviction that it is a sin from which one must repent.
