It is not permissible to consume hashish because it intoxicates and harms the body. It is one of the major sins that prayer does not expiate; rather, it requires repentance. Prayer is not sufficient for one who uses drugs and reaches a state of intoxication. The prayer of a wine drinker is not accepted for forty days unless he repents. Fear of hypocrisy is a sign of faith, for only a believer fears it.
