What is the ruling on one who was forced to have intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan; does she owe expiation or making up that day?

If a woman is forced into intercourse while fasting, she is not required to make up the fast (qada') nor offer expiation (kaffarah), based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Verily, Allah has forgiven my Ummah for their mistakes, their forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do." This coercion must be legally recognized (shar'an), such as a threat of death. However, if the coercion is not legally recognized, then she must repent sincerely and make up that day. Expiation is not obligatory for a woman who is forced into intercourse during Ramadan. This incident is a result of not observing the Shariah guidelines for women leaving their homes for work, and not taking precautions against mixing with men and being alone with them.
