Is it true that Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, al-Dhahabi, and Ibn al-Qayyim were Sufis? And why was Ibn Taymiyyah buried in Sufi cemeteries? And are Sufis considered among Ahl al-Sunnah, or are they among the misguided sects?

Ibn Taymiyyah explained the conditions of the Sufis in his collection of fatwas (Volume 11), and his affiliation with Sufism was not established, despite his praise for some Sufis. The summary of his opinion is that Allah's awliya (saints/devout servants) are the believing, pious individuals, regardless of their designations. The author noted the existence of Sufi orders that Ibn Taymiyyah condemned, such as those of Al-Hallaj and Ibn Arabi, because "people of innovation and heresy" ascribed themselves to Sufism. There is no specific reason for Ibn Taymiyyah's burial in the Sufi cemeteries other than the presence of his brother there, and this burial is permissible because they are cemeteries for Muslims.
