What is the ruling on a menstruating woman touching the Qur'an out of necessity or embarrassment to inform her father or teacher, and is she sinful for doing so?

We have previously clarified the impermissibility of a menstruating woman directly touching the Mushaf, and that some jurists see no harm in her carrying it with a cover or the like. The Malikis permitted her touching the Mushaf for learning purposes. Modesty is not an excuse for praying without purification or touching the Mushaf. Praying during menstruation is a sin that necessitates repentance, and a menstruating woman does not pray by the consensus of Muslims; if she prays, she is sinful.
