Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to touch the Mus'haf, even with a barrier such as gloves?

A menstruating woman is not permitted to touch the Mushaf (copy of the Qur’an), even with a barrier. This is the view of the majority of scholars, and it is supported by the hadith: “None shall touch the Qur’an except one who is pure.” The Malikis permit a menstruating woman to touch a part of the Qur’an, but not the entire Mushaf, for the purpose of learning or teaching. The Hanbalis, on the other hand, permit her to touch the Mushaf with a barrier. However, the preponderant view is that of the majority.
