Is it permissible for the pilgrim to intend Hajj according to the four madhhabs in order to enjoy the concessions found therein?

There are three types of Hajj: Ifraad (single Hajj), Tamattu' (Hajj combined with Umrah), and Qiraan (Hajj and Umrah combined with one ihram). The pilgrim may choose to enter into ihram for any of these. According to the Malikis and Shafi'is, Ifraad is the most preferable. For the Hanbalis, Tamattu' is preferred, while for the Hanafis, Qiraan is. It is permissible to enter into ihram without specifying a type and then later designate it for any of the three rituals. It is also valid to enter into ihram by stating, "I enter into ihram with what so-and-so entered into ihram," as Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) did. Scholars have prohibited the practice of selectively following concessions.
