What is the ruling on eating chicken slaughtered by the Sadia company in Brazil, given the use of electric stunning, high-speed slaughter, and non-Muslim slaughterers? And what is the ruling on working in a place where one is required to swear on the Qur’an to pronounce the Basmala over each chicken, despite the difficulty of achieving that, and does the failure to pronounce the Basmala result in leaving the chicken to die in hot water?

If an animal is stunned by electricity and then ritually slaughtered while still alive, it is permissible to eat it. However, if it dies from the stunning, it is not permissible to eat it. The Islamic Fiqh Academy has specified technical conditions for non-lethal electrical stunning. It is not permissible to stun an animal with a captive bolt pistol, an axe, or a hammer, nor is it permissible to stun poultry with an electric shock. As for the pronouncement of Allah's name (Tasmiyah), it is a condition for the permissibility of the slaughtered animal and is not waived due to forgetfulness or ignorance. If the machine slaughters each chicken individually, then the Tasmiyah is required for each one. If a group is slaughtered at once, one Tasmiyah suffices. As for the animal slaughtered by a person of the Book (Christian or Jew), it is permissible.
