What is the ruling on stunning chickens with an electric current before slaughtering them to facilitate the slaughtering process?

It is impermissible to use electric current to weaken an animal, due to the torture involved, which is forbidden by Islamic law. However, this use does not prevent the consumption of the animal after its slaughter, provided it remains alive with a stable life, in accordance with the Almighty’s saying: ﴿إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ﴾ [Al-Ma'idah: 3]. The signs of a stable life are that it moves and that blood flows from it forcefully.
