Is it permissible to bury the deceased in his home if a place is designated for him, due to the scarcity of cemeteries in the area?

The Sunnah is to bury the dead in public cemeteries, following the example of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his Companions. This is because it causes less harm to the living and encourages more prayers for the deceased. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was permitted to be buried in his house as a specific exception, so that his grave would not be taken as a mosque. However, if it is not possible to bury a Muslim in a cemetery, and there is no place to bury him except in his house, then there is no harm in that, although the cemetery is better by consensus. Officials should be addressed to allocate land for burying the dead, because frequent burials in houses lead to their constriction and possibly the desecration of graves.
