What is the ruling on one who makes a graveyard around his house to bury his family members, even though there are public graveyards in the town?

Burying the deceased in a house and its surroundings, while public Muslim cemeteries are available, is contrary to what is most preferable and best. This is due to the harm it inflicts upon the heirs and the deprivation of the deceased from the prayers of Muslims. The Companions and those who followed them have consistently buried their dead in public cemeteries. However, there is no objection to burying the deceased in a house when there is a need, such as fear of the grave being desecrated in public cemeteries.
