How can a Muslim choose between the differing opinions of scholars in jurisprudential matters, and what is the correct methodology for following the legitimate Islamic opinion?

It is not true that there is disagreement on every issue. Some issues are unanimously agreed upon, and in many others, the disagreement is weak and insignificant.
