Is it permissible to name the son a name different from the father's name, such that the father's name becomes the third name in the son's composite name, with the addition of the tribe's title?

Adoption is forbidden in Islam, as Allah the Almighty says: (Call them by [the names of] their fathers; it is more just in the sight of Allah). Adoption is when a man affiliates a child, whether of unknown or known lineage, to his own lineage. If the child is of unknown lineage, he should be given a general name that does not suggest affiliation with a specific family, such as being called ('Abdullah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman). If his father's name happens to coincide with the name of the man who sponsors him, there is no harm. However, attributing him to a tribe is not permissible. If the child is your own, then you must attribute him to yourself, and it is not permissible to affiliate him with someone else.
