Is it permissible in Islam to give my name to my wife's son—replacing his biological father's name—in order to facilitate bringing him to Saudi Arabia and to avoid future discrimination between him and my own children, especially since I intend to raise him as my own?

"Adoption is forbidden in Islamic law due to what it leads to in terms of the loss and mixing of lineages. However, if there is fear for a child of being lost, and no other means exists except to attribute him in the passport to facilitate his entry into a Muslim country, preserve him, and teach him the religion, while ensuring safety from legal prohibitions, then there is no harm in attributing him in the documents only. It is obligatory to take measures to keep the truth known, and if he enters a Muslim country, he should be attributed to his [biological] father since the necessity has ceased.
