Is it permissible for a single sheep to be sacrificed as 'aqiqah for each male, or is it obligatory to sacrifice two? And is it permissible to combine different intentions, such as feeding the poor, breaking the fast of those who are fasting, and dedicating the reward to deceased parents, along with the intention of 'aqiqah in a single sacrifice?

The 'Aqiqah is a confirmed Sunnah, not obligatory, and it is recommended not to delay it beyond the age of puberty. If it is delayed beyond this age, its ruling falls away from the father, and the child then has the choice to perform the 'Aqiqah for himself. The Sunnah is to sacrifice two sheep for a boy and one sheep for a girl, though sacrificing one sheep for a boy is sufficient. It is permissible to slaughter it during Ramadan to combine the reward of the 'Aqiqah with the reward of feeding the poor. As for dedicating the reward of the 'Aqiqah to a deceased father, it is permissible. However, it is not permissible to combine the Udhiyah (sacrifice) with the 'Aqiqah and dedicating reward to a deceased person in a single sheep.
