Are the hadiths and sayings that indicate that Omar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to concur with divine revelation authentic, and if so, what is their interpretation?

The issue is known as 'Umar's concurrences with the Qur'an, and authentic Hadiths have been narrated confirming them, including his concurrence regarding taking the Station of Abraham as a place of prayer, the verse of the Hijab, and the story of the Prophet's wives. His concurrences exceeded the number mentioned in the Hadiths, and their reality goes back to 'Umar expressing his opinion on important matters, whereupon the Qur'an would be revealed in agreement with his sound opinion. This falls under the reasons for revelation (Asbab al-Nuzul). 'Umar was singled out for the frequency of his concurrences due to the knowledge, understanding, and truthful discernment with which Allah blessed him.

However, these concurrences are few compared to the entirety of the Qur'an, and 'Umar was not infallible, as happened in the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, where he retracted his opinion after the truth became clear to him. Nor was 'Umar interfering with revelation; revelation descends from Allah, and 'Umar was rather a strict follower of revelation.
