What is meant by “a group dragged by the angels on their faces to the Fire” in the Hadith “People will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection in three groups”? And is this before the Hour or after it?

Prophetic Hadiths indicate that people will be gathered in three groups: a group riding, eating, and clothed; another group dragged on their faces by angels, pushed by the Fire; and a group walking and striving.

Scholars have differed regarding the time of this gathering. Some believe it will be before the Hour, where people will be gathered alive to Ash-Sham (Syria), citing the presence of riding, striving, eating, and overnight stays as evidence. Others believe it will be upon exiting the graves, and that the Fire will gather the rest with apes and pigs, arguing that when "gathering" (hashr) is mentioned, it generally refers to the gathering from the graves, and interpreting the aforementioned classification as referring to the categories of people on the Day of Judgment.

The preponderant view is that the gathering mentioned in the two Hadiths is the gathering that occurs before the Hour, where the best of people will voluntarily migrate to Ash-Sham, and the worst of people will be forcibly gathered there by the Fire, whereas the gathering of people from the graves will be barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised.
