The answer

Correction of information: Those who changed their qiblah in prayer from Al-Aqsa Mosque to Al-Haram Mosque were the people of Quba Mosque, not those who were praying with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. It is stated in the hadith of Ibn Umar that they turned towards the Kaaba during the Fajr prayer in Quba after news reached them of the command to face the Kaaba. Ibn Hajar described how they changed direction, stating that the Imam moved from the front of the mosque to its rear to face the Kaaba, and the men and women followed him. It is possible that this occurred before much movement in prayer was forbidden, or that it was overlooked for the sake of benefit.
