Why did God change the direction of the Qiblah, and why did He not order the Messenger to pray towards the Kaaba from the beginning, and how does God go back on His decision?

Allah Almighty knows the unseen, and this includes His knowledge of His command to the Muslims to turn towards the Kaaba after Jerusalem, for a wisdom explicitly stated in the Quran: "And We did not make the qiblah which you used to face except that We might make evident who would follow the Messenger from who would turn back on his heels." This test distinguishes those who follow the Messenger from those who apostatize, and it is a great matter except for the guided ones who believe that Allah does what He wills and possesses perfect wisdom. Abrogation does not contradict Allah's knowledge; rather, it occurs due to a wisdom linking certain rulings to a specific duration or circumstance.
