What is the ruling on prayer, fasting, and ghusl when yellow discharge appears 22 days postpartum, and what is meant by "contact with blood"?

Scholars differed concerning the ruling on yellow discharge after purification from post-partum bleeding (nifas) within the forty-day period. Ibn Baz held that it takes the ruling of nifas blood, while Ibn Uthaymeen held that it is not considered nifas after purification. He based his view on the hadith of Umm Atiyyah: "We did not consider yellowness and turbidity to be anything." This latter view is the preferred one. As for "connection to blood," it refers to the yellow or turbid discharge coming immediately connected to menstrual or nifas blood. In this case, it is considered part of them, unless the woman sees a sign of purity. If she sees it after purification, it is not considered menstruation unless it occurs during the usual time of her period.
