Masturbation is forbidden, and a husband is commanded to ensure his wife's chastity. If he is unable to engage in intercourse, he must enable her to satisfy her desire through foreplay and similar means. It is permissible for her to masturbate with his hand or by using an artificial phallus.

If her desire is not appeased by these means and she fears falling into zina (unlawful sexual intercourse), then masturbation becomes permissible for her due to necessity.

And if a person genuinely fears falling into zina, it is permissible for him to masturbate as a matter of choosing the lesser of two evils. However, he should only do so when he fears for himself.
