A Muslim must be patient if Allah does not decree for him what he desires, for whatever afflicts him of pain, exhaustion, illness, or sorrow, Allah expiates his sins thereby. As for pregnancy, if doctors determine that it would lead to the destruction of the self, then it is not permissible to proceed with it, based on the words of Allah Almighty: ﴿And do not throw yourselves with your own hands into destruction.﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 195] However, if it only involves mere effort, fatigue, or concern for the fetus, then there is no sin in proceeding with it.
