The answer

If gassing poultry does not kill it before slaughter, then there is no harm in eating it if it is slaughtered according to Islamic law, as stated in the resolution of the Fiqh Academy. Nevertheless, it is preferable to avoid stunning and to slaughter the animal in the manner established by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who would lay the animal down and begin slaughtering it immediately. The claim that stunning is more merciful to the animal is a false claim, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded kindness in slaughter and providing comfort to the animal before slaughter, and forbade torturing it. "All good lies in following the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in everything."
