What is the ruling on a sick mother breaking her fast due to kidney stones, and a brother who was unable to fast due to the intense heat and exam pressure, while they are traveling to a distant town?

Scholars differed regarding the duration of travel that permits concessions. According to the view of those who did not restrict it to a specific duration, there is no sin upon your mother and brother, but they must make up the fasts. However, according to the view of the majority of scholars, which is the fatwa given, whoever stays for four days or more is considered a resident, and they must repent and make up the fasts. As for breaking the fast due to severe illness that makes fasting difficult, or if there is a fear of the illness worsening, it is permissible for the mother. However, intense heat, studying, or exams are not valid excuses to break the fast. In all cases, they must make up the fasts.
