What is the Islamic legal ruling on a wife who divulges the secrets of her home and her marital intimacy, and causes her family and children to dislike her, and how should the husband deal with her?

A wife divulging the secrets of her home, especially details of marital intimacy, is a wrong and forbidden behavior. On the authority of Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, among the greatest trusts with Allah on the Day of Resurrection is a man who goes to his wife, and she goes to him, and then he divulges her secret." He also said: "Indeed, among the worst people in rank with Allah on the Day of Resurrection is a man who goes to his wife, and she goes to him, and then he divulges her secret."

The gravity of this behavior should be explained to the wife, and she should be warned of its religious consequences. She should be encouraged to learn the rulings of the Sharia, to associate with righteous women, and to listen to admonitions. If she persists in her error, then the steps for correction should be applied gradually: admonition, then abandonment in bed, then non-brutal beating. If these means do not succeed, divorce is the last resort.
