Is it permissible for the husband to inform his family of all the details of his marital life, and is the wife entitled to demand privacy, and what are the limits of sharing marital information?
It is forbidden to disclose the private secrets of the marital relationship, as well as the secrets of the marital home, if secrecy is requested or if disclosure leads to harm. This is based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, among the worst people in rank before Allah on the Day of Resurrection is a man who goes to his wife, and she goes to him, then he divulges her secret." As for general matters, it is not forbidden to disclose them, but the husband should not reveal every small or large detail of what goes on in the house, except when there is a clear benefit in doing so, such as to ward off envy, based on his (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Seek help in achieving your needs by concealing them; for every possessor of a blessing is envied." The wife may gently and kindly ask her husband to refrain from doing so.
