What is the ruling on working in the sale of forbidden things, such as pork? Is the money earned from it unlawful or not? And must it be given away in charity?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to work in selling forbidden things such as alcohol and pork. Whoever does so, their earnings are impure and unlawful, and must be disposed of by spending them on the welfare of Muslims. It is not permissible for him to benefit from it unless he is poor and in need, in which case he may take from it what suffices his need. The questioner's continued employment in a job that involves assisting in the sale of forbidden things is not permissible unless he can avoid the forbidden aspects and limit his work to what is permissible, or if he is compelled to remain in it until he finds another job that can support himself and those whose maintenance is incumbent upon him, while being obligated to search for another job.
