Is it permissible to work in a place that involves forbidden things—such as alcohol and pork—out of necessity, while continuing to search for lawful employment, and does the income from such work affect one's children?

It is impermissible to engage in work that involves assisting in the sale of forbidden items such as alcohol and pork, and the money earned from it is unlawful. However, if the work is limited to permissible matters without assisting in the forbidden, then it is permissible, though it is better to avoid it. One must spend on their children from lawful earnings, for the Fire is more befitting every body nourished by unlawful means, and no body nourished by unlawful means shall enter Paradise. It is not permissible to undertake forbidden work except in cases of extreme necessity. Otherwise, strive and rely upon Allah, for "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him."
